20. An African American Buddhist man finds it hard to enjoy good health while others are unwittingly eating, drinking, and inhaling pollution. (pg. 4)
From time to time we men become insensitive to the plight of others. Some of us just don't care, others have their own problems to worry about, while many are too busy to be aware. This toxic mud slide is a major threat to the health of people in the area. Folks have been wiped out and there is no telling if or when the local people will be unwittingly eating, drinking, and inhaling pollution. On behalf of strengthening our own compassionate awareness we must acknowledge the suffering around us, which is why number twenty is such a valuable point to contemplate.
